I would like to think that although our old friend Georg is not with us on this earth any longer, his spirit still exists and remains with, as he used to refer to us, his Authours Den family. Halloween was one of his favorite holidays and it was he who originated the AD Halloween Bash so...this one is for you Georg.

Poem Artwork

Georg’s Halloween Bash

Wrathful winds scream through denuded trees
Ebon clouds threaten holocaust and doom
Spiteful raindrops stings like tiny stabs on skin
Hallowed moon won’t dispel shadows gloom

Vile unknown creatures lurk in stalking mode
Loitering graveyard cats hiss at things unseen
Costumed trick or treaters seek their own doors
This night not fit for even most brazened teen

On the hilltop sit’s the house of long lost dreams
You know the one that every town shirks clear
A place where only on the sunniest of mid-day
To knock on the door only the foolish would dare

Lights begin to flicker from the windows and the door
Midnight now inside the place comes alive once more
The Twisted Author's Band tune up their instruments
To break into a song with lyrics blood and gore

Werewolves, witches, vampires, ogres start to dance
The place comes alive and that’s no talk trash
The night again where all the poet ghosts come out
Happy Halloween to all at the AD Halloween Bash!

I so miss Georg. He was the first to welcome me here all those years ago and became one of my most cherished mentors. The Den hasn't been the same since he left us.

Here's to you, dear friend Georg. You are still remembered and loved. And to you, Fee, for helping to keep his spirit alive.

I did not have the pleasure to read Georg's work, but I have read many nice comments about him and his writing. I feel sure that your friend would be very happy with this wonderfully haunting tribute to his love of this upcoming holiday. Sounds like quite a party; one that I am sure Georg would have enjoyed! Very entertaining write, Fee. Loved it.

Thank you Fee. This is a tribute that is not only timely, but so richly deserved. Georg is sorely missed by us all, even those of us who knew him only briefly and only through this site. You've done him proud, my friend. Dick

Bless your heart, Felix. Dear ol Georg must be giving you a brotherly knife in the back and a tender nip on the neck about now! :)) I've been known, perhaps, as the Halloween Party Pooper Extraordinaire as I'm certainly not a fan of what I know to be a big thing on your side of the Pond, but I certainly appreciate the ongoing love and affection that has wrought this well-delivered piece as well as the tribute to his enjoyment of and contribution to the Party spirit of tims past. I really like the descriptions of the house in stanza 3 - and ain't it just the truth, that we all "have one" in our locale that is pretty much the no-go area that you describe, for whatever reason? Bash on, Felix, in the knowledge that Georg will certainly not miss a shindig that's thrown in his honour. Have fun! xx

A marvelous tribute to old Brother Georg Edvard; he truly did love the AD Howloween Bash. And Howloweens just aren't the same around here without him. A marvelous Howloween poem, too.
