Sometimes the sea and sand and old folklore rituals like notes in bottles ease or give a purpose to what we cannot understand.

 Letters in Glass

By: Fee

I wrote a love letter to my true love

Put it in a bottle to toss out to sea

Said a prayer to ask Cupid to guide it

To wherever my true love may be

My heartfelt words written on paper

Words I knew she’d probably never see

I wrote how much I still loved her

I wrote how I wished it could still be

I sat down on the sand at the sea shore

Holding that bottled letter tight in my hand

As the sun finally set below the horizon

With bitter tears in my eyes, I did stand

Tossed that bottle far out on the ebb tide

Watched till darkness took it out of sight

Tomorrow I'd find a way to keep smiling

but…I'll cry myself to sleep again tonight.

Sometimes we can only cast our hopes out and hope they find our fulfillment.

Better to keep the bottle, fill it with wine
and drink till you see her. At least you have a chance.

If only we could just send a love letter out on the ether and it would find someone who would faithfully stay by us the rest of our lives.

Unfortunately, the chance that a bottle with a poem like that picked up by a beautiful young woman who would fall for the poem and the writer is next to nil. Zero chance.

But it is a very nice impossible romantic wish.
