You and I
are like thoughts of joy that go unspoken
like rhythm without music.
why do we choose to be
alone and confused.
when together we could sing a perfect song,
if only we would share ourselves with each other honestly enough to find the tune.
you and I
are giving up the moment
to try to touch the star of freedom
that only falls too soon.
We lie down together in love
then we surrender our hearts
not to each other,
but to the strange currents of the world
and wake up too weak to claim
the life that should be ours.
You and I
are like happiness without laughter
it just gets lost in time.
fond memories
without true fulfillment
that can never reach that far.
you and I
are like a tear
thats not falling.
you and I are like a wound
that leaves no scar.
you and I
are like a lonliness without wanting.
you and I
have never loved that hard.
