I saw it that once
and that was enough
it'll take forever
for me to be that tough

Pain in hot thrush
in bursts of red heat
Clutching at never
no longer complete

Pieces removed so
to exist of their will
Incisions addressed
to experience the chill

Two pulses now flow
where one used to speed
Emotions regressed
replaced by pure need

Breath from the void
and shelter from harm
Embrace to protect
and with a glance, disarm

New spirit deployed
a new quest begun
a mind so perfect
in the form of a son
