The anger wells – my pride swells Curses fly – epithets cry Fury unleashed – sanity bleached Self-evisceration try Tongues spit – breakers hit Careless break – warded stake Fists undone – injury won Punishment yet to take Pain relents – common sense Amassed regret – true sobriquet Flight opposed – broken nosed Not quite finished yet Last flurry – vision furry Conscious wane – synapse strain Chorus peal – wounds don’t heal Finally collapsing in vain Copyright: Brian Pellerino 2006
