The first WORD thought from the void

and the swirling vortex,

the black hole bank of time,

reversed motion and spewed forth

the smoky remains of dying universes

Combusted molecules of plasma gas

ignited into a flame of pure energy,

and a huge, nuclear inferno was

suspended in a milky highway

of 100 billion stars

Comets, tails caught in the magnetic

door, were spun into its orbit,

along with nine planets and their moons

that flung asteroidal debri

like so much galaxy pocket change

The first WORD called matter forth

from its minute atoms again

And the elements of earth were formed

as gaseous vapors morfed and clouded

into thick, bluish mists of liquid life

A clorophyll sea spilled organismic pea

soup that covered the earth

The first WORD gathered carbon dust

and with spittle from His tongue

molded sinew and bone,

and feather, fur, scale and skin

into all forms of fish, fowl, amphibian

and mammal

And pleased with His handiwork,

He put His mark apon it

and blood flooded the veins, vessels

and corpuscles of tissue


Then He paused...

and His world paused...


The first WORD was alone,

and wanting to share His creation

He made Man, flesh of His flesh,

bone of His bone out of single strands

of sanctified DNA

that replicated His holy gene pool

The first WORD breathed consciousness

into the mind of Man

and knowlege of His will...

And the first WORD spoke...
