Poem Artwork

If I stood in my open window naked,
would you know me better by my scars?

I could turn slowly and show you every one

Or have you become too numbed by the blood spilled around you?

My pain shows on a face that you cannot see and resides in a place you cannot enter

You have not been granted access and maybe never will, time will tell

You have been privy to my thoughts, please leave me the sanctum of my soul

If you want to know me, read me, and use your fertile imagination to read between the lines...

OMG sis, I thought you were talking about me there for a moment. This is EXACTLY how I feel because of my mother's betrayal of motherly love to her first born. But, now that I am engaged to be married to a wonderful man, I can move on. But, moving on, does not lessen the hurt that is in my soul. Thnx for sharing this sis. May the Lord be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((HUGS))), Barbie

Your opening lines blew me out of the water:

If I stood in my open window naked,
would you know me better by my scars?

Another line that grabbed me around the neck:

You have been privy to my thoughts,
please leave me the sanctum of my soul

Excellent wordsmithing!

Amen. Reality TV has come close to crossing a lot of lines these days. And the worst one is Survivor. Getting people to be bitchy and back-biting and scheme their way to a million dollars. Meanwhile, we get to watch people hang around the island in all their naked, hairy glory. Nope, not for me. That's why I don't watch it.

This is very good... I agree with every line of this wonderful poem... when the truth (nakedness) is staring at us, we want more... the stories and truths, that are told, we want more... until finally, there is no more... respect the privacy and enjoy the company...

There are way too many reality shows that I just can not get into unless it is about medicine and has a hopeful message. Those house makeover well maybe but the makeover shows well I am content that I survived what I did. I do like Maury though but Fear Factor boring.
