An "earth"
not unlike our own
in a sky of a thousand stars
A star like our sun,
heat spinning off gas
as it dances in space
fifty light-years away

Coming closer
then stepping back
in a dizzy salsa,
so close to it's planet lover
it completes a turn
in three and half days

With each go-round
it passes within our sight
blinking fire
blocking a fraction
of it's lover's light
shifting
from left to right
as flounces of colored silk
tug at it's curves
toward earth
