Seeing blindfolded


only images of the words
shining in my mind
weaving meaning
just sound shape


no other clues
color free, no code
of dress or grooming
perfume, other scents, yes


but ignorant
if or not a watch
Rolex or
Mickey Mouse


such lack of
judgements seeing brings
would my mind be quieter
freedom increase


love be easier
no reason
not to love
based on appearances.

touching Henry. Did you know that the actor Jamie Foxx went 14 hours a day sometime with his eyes covered when he potrayed RAy Charles in the movie "RAY?" And Ray Charles being blind was amazing. I tried playing the keyboard with my eyes closed and its difficult. Of course I don't play that well with eyes open. G

Beautifully written wishful poetic words. The fact is the human animal is driven to mate with an image that is strong, beautiful and capable of bearing beautiful children.

Love be probably not easier beyond reason within no reason, sometimes in spite of appearance... but love be probably that. Not many find it, as the search is to be carried on blindfolded... and too many just don't have the patience for what be not easy. Wonderful poem, Henry - and thank you for your kind comments on my writing.
