Visitors

they sit
in the unused
dinette chair

an apparition
of those from
behind the veil

as a
slide show
of those gone on

one image
at a time
appearing fading

often our parents
our cousins
grandparents

brothers sisters
we spend a
few moments

later others
some revisit often
we never lack

these images
limited to
those who know

their visits
are not sad
not disturbing

but merely
friendly
often short

besides
where else
are they to go?
