I know that the USA is feeling the hurt and betrayal of late because of the various attacks and crisis that have occured over the past few years but...

I do hope that before the doors close completely that the very essence of this great country is not lost in the slamming. As a neighbour (Canadian) I have always admired the United States and their patriotism, is not that based on the ability to provide liberty for all. Anyway I am not trying to preach and the poem as read is I know filled with deep and real emotion. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
