There she goes
My daughter
Grown from baby days
From charming eclectic childhood
To an elegant young woman
With more determination
Of mind than I have had...
Only sometimes
In retreat
Hair dressed down and wearing
Her boyfriend's discarded shirt for comfort
Because he isn't here...
There she goes
My daughter
Almost as a child again.
