i don't know much
but there are certain
truths
which are plain
rivers will dry up
or flood out
a town
another species will
become extinct
someone will be
murdered
by someone
they love
and a baby
will be born
into a home of
violence
a new plague will
wipe out a
certain demographic
first
then work it's way
to your front door
someone you hate will
win the lottery
my heart will
be broken
by someone who didn't
deserve me
i will hurt someone
who was better
than me
your parents
will die
leaving you
with no closure
and you will
foot the bill
your dick will
stop working
and the one next to you
will be glad for it
there will be
fleeting moments
of joy in your life
that you will
forget in time
but the grief
will leave its stain
sometimes
i wonder if i shouldn't
just cut my belly
open and fillet myself
like a samurai fish
but i would hate
to leave that
for my daughter
so i go on
resigned to
the truth of things:
death always
wants more death
