This is nothing personal toward anyone here, but this is something that needs to be said.

What Being Brave Really Means
by Barbara Lynn Terry

I have been told that I have courage, and a bold heart,
That I am strong for not letting others tear me apart,
With cruel words and actions and misunderstanding,
Laughing at me for being this little girl,
I have always been since I was born into this world.

They cannot see, these people of such misery,
That others have lives and only wish to be happy,
In what Mother Nature has given us, as we had no say,
As to who we would be, on any given day,
Just so we may be happy as we romp and play.

Am I really all that courageous, bold and brave?
To tell it like it should be told,
Even if I have mostly doubts, and a nova size hole,
Deep in the center of my soul?
I have a dream that is voracious as it consumes me,
Day and night, and into the seasons of my life,
And begin to doubt my own voracity to become the wife,
Of a decent man, who will support me,
In living my life as the girl I so desparately need to be.

So how strong am I really, to write of my final goal,
When so deep inside, the bottomless hole of my soul,
Is just waiting to devour me whole, for being this girl,
I have been forever, since my birth into this world?

What being brave really means to this little girl in me,
Is to be seen, to be happy, to be alive ... to be.

let the little girl be my friend for i am that little girl along with you. At 32 i suck my thumb and never did that before. I am doing the things my childhood never had a chance to do. So breathe, live, be a little girl in a womans body, just be.

Opportunnities to be brave abound. Few seek them. Most run for cover.

That sounds very brave. But so is being an England supporter, walking into a german bar singing two world wars and one world cup. On the day we play them. I'm only two teeth less...
