Is It Just Another Fable? By Barbara Lynn Terry
When in our den, with befuddled thoughts and pen, We write our words of wisdom down, Then when it is time to dine, We just shout and say, in here is fine, Cause I am just doing the last few lines, Before I forget this reason to rhyme. We get that deer in the headlights eyes, While looking at the dark dreary skies, With inspiration and insight, That makes our poem come alive in the night. I finish the last few lines of reason and rhyme, But my food has not come this time. I get up to look out the door of my den, I see them look as if to say when, "Are you coming to table, Or is it just another fable?"
I spend a fortune on canned air to blow the crumbs and cat hair from my keyboard. My cat has resigned herself to the fact if she wants to sit on my lap or beg for food, she is going to have to do it while watching me type.
