This is what our tears do for us.

Tears
by Barbara Lynn Terry

They say our tears wash away all that is old,
They are the cleanser of our very souls,
And when they are through, make us whole.

They stream down like the rain,
Our emotions they do drain,
Purifying evil demons of the past,
So we may live happily at last.

To bury deep, the sadness of life,
Our tears wash away all strife,
That we may hold our heads on high,
And never again let our demons nigh.

Our tears wash away all that is old,
Never again to shiver from the cold,
That has wrought our emotional state
And our demons they did abate.

This poem reminded me of what I have been doing for the past three weeks with all that has been going on in my life. There were two days in the later half of this time that I was able to really let the tears flow, helping to wash away the saddness and pain. Thanks for sharing Barbie.

I remember the angel Nicholas Cage asking the mortal (but beautiful) Meg Ryan what a tear was. He didn't know. By the end of the film, he knew all right.

To bury deep, the sadness of life,
Our tears wash away all strife,

I liked this heartfelt poem, Barbara. Tears welled up last night listening to Elvis singing Old Shep. Shouldn't be so susceptible,
but I remembered my dog in heaven, old Rex. Best wishes kenny
