My thoughts and feelings of my very first airplane ride to LAX.

My First Airplane Ride

By Barbara Lynn Terry

On the ground in Milwaukee, Wis,

I pondered…”Why am I doing this?”

We began to move away from the

Terminal, and then we stopped,

But the man said we had been cleared

For takeoff, as I sat in my seat securely

Buckled in.

Then the engines roared to life,

And we started to move.

I did not notice that we were in the air,

As we rose up into the clouds ever so high.

I looked over at the window,

And saw we were in the sky,

Thirty eight thousand, two hundred and

Fifty feet, and I thought this isn’t fair,

I closed my eyes as I saw the ground below,

But before I knew it, we were on the ground

Again at Denver International,

Five thousand, three hundred and fifty feet

Above sea level.

We were taken by golf cart to our next flight

For LAX in Los Angeles, Cal.

The man said the trip would be only

One hour and fifty five minutes,

But it seemed like an eternity.

I was a bundle of jitters and nerves,

Upset tummy and light headedness,

As I pondered in my mind,

How can this heavy metal object fly?

I'm sorrty that I am laughing, but LAX, almost as bad as JFK!!! Ugh!
I flew twice, a long time ago and swore I would never fly again. Now I drive anywhere I want to go........Cute!

Be safe,
