We all must let the evils that haunt us go, so we can live a happy and productive life.

I Will

by Barbara Lynn Terry

I know I should not let it bother me

and I have for the most part,

but why won't it let me be

and why does it lie?

Why does it leave for months on end

only to wait around the bend?

I wish it would leave altogether,

and never bother me again.

It sneaks up on me,

and taps me on the shoulder

only to go BOO!

So I jump with fright.

Let this evil that frightens me

leave and let me see

that I need not fear its kind

even though it stands behind

Me in the line of life

Causing me to strive

to find a safe haven

so that I can hide

But wait! Why should I take the bait,

and let this evil rule my life?

Even though it has been born of abuse

of every kind, and even thought it is

very powerful, I can still let it go...

I can. I know I can, and I will.

You are you -- and you are uniquely blessed. So, when it sneakes up on you and says "Boo" -- you turn and return a loud "Boo, Begone!" back to it. Keep embracing love and laughter, Barbie, and you will be/are just fine.

I love the manner in which you end the poem. You take control and power. Thank you, Barbie. Love, peace, and healing to you,
