George wrote this poem A few years ago in prison. He still hurts and misses his former sweetheart, but has turned his life over to God. He's studing to become a minister.

Would you still love me,
if I was not home with you

If you had to sleep alone for years,
would you still be true

Would you write letters and
reassure me of your love

Or would you want a letter from me,
cutting you free

Is ten years that long to wait
when we have eternity

Is an unconditional love
worth waiting for

I GUESS IT WASN'T !
I no longer hear from you

A very sad thing that had to be told so others can learn that all is not lost even when we go astray. Even we can come back and be a better person in this world if we really want to.

Lost things haunt our memories forever, it seems. We have to put them in the past and move on, though. I know you have turned to the Lord and I think it will help you in the down times to picture Jesus standing between you and the past--the good and not-so-good parts of it. You are in a unique position to shine His light in the lives of people who may have no other testimony of His love, no word of the salvation He offers. "...forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" (Phil.3:13,14)
Praying for you today, George.

River of Memories: An Appalachian Boyhood by David Thompson

For a time, I perched myself on a flat rock, comparing my life with the Guyandotte River. Just as its tributaries replenish it daily, changing it in some small—sometimes great—degree, so have the day-to-day occurrences of life changed me. Like the ri
