A friend of our son, Bobby, wrote this poem. I felt it was worth sharing.
If you could change one thing,
what would you choose,
Something for others, or
Something for you
Would you help
people in need,
or take away,
from people with greed
In their hearts, who want it all
who don't give nothing away,
even small
Things that could help somebody out,
people who always go with out
If for yourself,
is that considered vain,
for not helping people
who are in pain.
Would they do the same for you,
If they'er hungry, without food
The true answer lies within,
Ask yourself the question again.
Very timely write that gives a message of wisdom, for indeed wealth always has a purpose, and not just for the enjoyment of one, or a to be given away to a dog as inheritance, since it could be used to feed the less fortunate and help children instead of dogs.

A lot of thought went into the writing of this poem. I like the first two lines, "If you could change anything, what would you choose?" We often think of that question in relation to ourselves rather than the world at large. The scope of changing "anything" would make my list too long because there are many things in this society I would like to change. But with regard to helping people in need--now there's one that should be an ongoing project we all should contribute to.
