Terror rode the planes,
as they flew through the sky

Innocents on board had no help,
were afraid they might die

As they flew toward eternity,
death was riding too

Many were scared,
They did not know what to do

Some clung to each other,
with heads bowed in prayer

Others called loved ones,
to let them know they cared

The planes struck the twin towers,
Washington and a Pennsylvania field,

Destruction and death reigned supreme
in that disasterous scene

Heros were born that day,
famlies were torn apart

Such turmoil and grief,
filled our nations breaking hearts

We commemorate their kindered spirits
while seasons come and go

Ever mindful of what was lost,
as onward we proudly go
