A world of soldiers fought—oft their end came quickly.
... But many who survived died so very slowly—
The armless, the blind, the legless, the insane.
... And those spared of bullet holes till home they came—
Hoping to relieve their mental battle pain;
... Thinking God could NEVER exact war again.
They brought back peace to a world much depraved.
... Now, most have passed, but their glory will never fade.
They’ve joined combat brothers in a peaceful celestial cell!
... Heroic soldierswho drove Lucifer back intohell.
Funny how people like Hitler who always promise to destroy us end up destroyed themselves. Unfortunately in the process a high price must be paid from both sides. You have captured that very effectively.
Well done my friend, for all though tis folly and unreal to expect that man will never rage war again...let us hope that when he does it is for the right reasons and their are right reasons sometimes.
