The quickness of exotic hairstyles
Base, make up and black false eyelashes
Red lips, and a beaming white smile.

Mourning my youth
My small perky breast
And my twenty something waist
My baby making hips, and a little roundness in my backside.

Mourning my youth
Back in the day
My stupidity, judgment and ignorance
And bad choices.

Mourning my youth
Of young love heartbreaks
First experiences, more mistakes
And a thing called fear of the unknown.

Finding out who I really am
What I stand for
And what direction I intended to go.

Mourning my youth
All that I lost
And the knowledge I gained
The courage in which I stand

Mourning my youth
Letting go of yesterday
Inviting today
Praying tomorrow comes.

Looking back and laughing
Happy to be here in this space
Still filled with life.

Loving my body
It’s dip, dab and dunks.
