My cousin Tami wrote this to the Father of her children. His own Father has recently passed away and is dancing with the angels of heaven.
Its okay to shed a tear today
After all it is your birthday
I’m sure he shed one too
51 years ago today,
as he looked at you
He loved you so
You were the pride of his life
even after you took your wife
You are the one he looked up too
He will always watch over you
The day we gave him our first born son
The joy on his face could not be undone
Though many have tried to stand in our way
Tom always knew just what to say
On the day our second son came along
He was there, tried to be strong
But I saw the tear in his eye
He shook his head with joy and let out a sigh
One more time his life was blessed
As we laid Justin to his chest
He looked at me and said, Oh my
What a perfect little guy
Family is the one thing he left behind
But the love he showed lives on
In each of you, his precious sons
A piece of him will live on
Don’t let the naysayers
Stand in your way
We love you just as much today
We will be here to cheer you on
Until the day your work is done
Then you can join your Father in heaven
Forever there to be together
One by one we’ll find our way, and meet
The circle will then be forever complete
Such a beautiful sharing, Janet. Convey my best wishes to Tami. Wrote one last night about my Daddy, who passed away in May ... watching from the Heavens, sending me little pieces of himself to remember him by ... well done.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
