rolling outside of
the red-ochre-chalked
circle zone, is a source of
evil,

Punished Woman, seen
it at Medicine Wheel, she
pulls a pot of stew off the fire,
she rolls a handful of stones on
the ground,

they roll out of the
chalked circle zone, the
clue tells her white man is
close by,

"Don't take them,"
warns his companion
as they near the perimeter
of the camp.  "They belong
to a Frenchman."

"You are a white man's
fool and a coward, these
two women belong to each
other, they chew each other
like sweet root.  They keep it
in the lodge, I suspect."

white man's world,
an opportunity to educate
evil, chance favors the prepared
mind,

the Berdache, soft males
based on a flash of a mirror
that a gay tribal society existed,
scouts track only those who are
stalking to assault one of their own,

Berdache and Kutenai
warrior women, savior cult
in 1800s Alaska,

coming in wearing
their warpaint and skins
of rare albino deer, beads
and feathers, content to drive
the white man away,

the white man who
drinks whiskey causes
him to let down his guard,
white man is so stupid he can
be bribed with rum and whiskey,

the Kutenai warrior
woman yelps "Aaahey!"
So deeply embedded is the
gay warrior in her heart,

white man doesn't
know what has come
upon him, surrounding
him, the Berdache and
Kutenai warrior women
intimidate him with just their
"Aaahey!" noise effect, he
doesn't know they have bent
arrows and crooked lances that
can do him little harm, instead, they
outmaneuver him with intimidation and
surprise,

the gay scouts dismount
and dance upon the ground
wearing animal tails and fringes
at their heels, wiping away the
white man's horse's hoofprints so
there is no reminder...

We have some old writings which say the Berdache were considered special and magickal in tribes down through Canada and the upper American regions. It was (I think) about the melding of openly male/female virtues in one person - always a thing of completed power. This is a brilliant write, Sage.
