Sage Sweetwater bringing you the Upper Tier in lesbian erotica...

I ride for the
Powder River Hymnals
from Wyoming to Montana,
the Land of the Big Sky, the
prairie preachers put up the Devil's
Rope, barbed-wire so the firebrand's
stories don't leak ink, the presses roll,

stopped off to
look at my curvy
reflection in Crazy
Woman Creek, tributary
of Powder River, I stare down
the prairie preachers without batting
an eye,

vital hunting ground to
the Lakota, I wage war
against encroachments on
lesbian territory; site of Red
Cloud's successful 1866 war against
encroachments on Lakota territory by
miners heading into Montana,

thundering revenge, hail fire
and brimstone conformity, prairie
preachers put up the Devil's Rope,
barbed-wire so the firebrand's stories
don't leak ink, the presses roll,

the dust fogs, longhorn
cattle trailed by the drovers,
at Donkey Creek Junction, I saw
a beautiful sight, a woman riding *hell
bent for leather, I rode clit-hard to catch
up with her, my pussy on fire, I followed the
erotic smell of her mane of hair, wind-tossed
foreplay in the excited air,

she was the last
good woman to walk
through the church doors,
the preacher pulled the rope
on the church bell, I stared down
the prairie preacher without batting
an eye, struck the sulphur on the match,
"God knows I ride for the Powder River
Hymnals - may you see the Light" -
the
prairie preachers put up the Devil's Rope,
barbed-wire so the firebrand's stories don't
leak ink, the presses roll, he shut the white
double doors,

I could smell her hair
from the back pew send
me a message, I sent her a
message back, Out I ride for
the Powder River Hymnals,

I rode through
the Panther Mountains
where good man legend
DeVault's romantic voice
echoed up to timberline,
my spurs f***ed the wind
I rode wild, cut through the
brushy draws on Forbidden
Mountain where I f***ed the
last good woman to walk through
the church doors,

wanted dead or alive,
the timber lords, preachers,
Bible aficionados,and lesbians,
not all that is conflict and controversy
withers the lavender meadows...ride for
the Powder River Hymnals,

prairie preachers put up
the Devil's Rope, barbed-wire
so the firebrand's stories don't leak ink,
the presses roll...

I...

Evolving our Vision...

*Hell bent for leather seems to be a very recent usage in which two phrases: hell-bent and hell for leather have been run together.  The bent in hell-bent means "determined" or "resolute", as in "bent on revenge", so hell-bent means "intent on going to hell".

Hell for leather, on the other hand, means "fast".  It occurs twice (1889, 1893) in Kipling's stories of the British Army in India.  In both cases it refers to horse-riding and leather probably refers to the saddle.  It may have originated as Army slang or it could possibly have been one of Kipling's inventions.

Love this passionate story. Hell bent and other images flooded my mind. The poem nicely has several layers and the sensuality is great. Liz

Half the fun is in the chase, especially when you see what you are going after. Hell bent for leather has been a slang meaning determined to get there as fast as I can ride. Like you said, whether it was British slang in India, or Kipling's imagination, who knows.

I love this Sage, it is a fast riding, hell bent for leather story that is captivating, and very sensual when she chases the woman to the church. Thank you for sharing.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Reading your work is always an adventure of the soul that makes me suck in air and feel my heart beat faster. I know a little about the Devil's Rope; and because of you, I now have a hankering to lift a buckskin skirt. Unfortunately, I'll likely never experience what it's like to "ride clit-hard to catch up..." But I have an open mind and I'm willing to learn. And, dear Sage, The Powder River Hymnals tells me you might be the perfect teacher!

This beats hands down The Good The Bad And The Ugly. Hell bent for leather, reckon the picture of "you" striking a match on your saddle-hardened arse is as strong as the image of the stubble on Cli(n)t Eastwood's chin as he chews on his charoot. And the mind boggles at what you keep under that woven poncho, Sage...!! Must say, I have a special fondness for Heath Ledger, but a Sweetwater version of Brokeback Mountain would be kinda amazin! And is that DeVault a William variety? Love the way you weave our very own Den members into your writes at times, Darlin. You kick butt, Sweetheart. Love Kate xx

You really have a way with words, especially raw, gutsy, horsey, barrely, tumbleweedish, windy, hilly, scented, cattle-like, etc. All of them paint a picture. A lovely, multi-colored picture, in many cases, of a special time, region, peoples/tribes,behavior. Of course, that word you know that I dislike...

I thoroughly enjoyed this Sage, you tell a mean story of the wild side of protesting the anti gay army. I love the use of the erotic terms mixed with the passion of the ride...very good images and even if not gay this one stirs the blood. Well done.
