nostalgia's movement
powered by wind and water
propels the Sagittarius in her
age, it was the summer of '75 when
a collie dog was shaved because
of cockle burs tangled in her lassie
coat and books entertained my passion
and I still love butcher chopping blocks,

if only my skin
should look as good
in a decade as it does now,
and if only my mind can maintain
its grip for so long, and if only my
paraphernalia can never corncob out,

I opt now to
take the broken
window screens to
the glass shop instead
of repairing them myself,
hell, I'm a writer and everything
is f***ing alchemical to me, anyway
they say copper screen material is to
be avoided because it develops a green-blue
patina. I like green-blue patina, it speaks of age
and repels mosquito borne disease,

and at my age,
each pinch of pussy
is like a pinch of lemon
verbena, the sweetest fragrance
can never be overdone or pass
its appointed bounds,

the older I get,
the harder it is to
locate a windmill or
waterwheel, and if
only pinion trees could talk,
leave riddle in the bark...

51 - what a very good year! Ageless, unflagging Sage, you have the aura and heat shimmer of youth and truth, you are windmill and waterwheel, Angel Falls and Everest.

a lovely write-the world has changed so much in my 52 years-much of it i miss

When we go down that memory lane, we all can find something that we miss. Today's technology has taken a lot of that sweetness away from life. You have penned a sweet poem here that almost everyone can relate to. Great job, Sagee!!!

Ah yes, as time slips by the familiar things seem to disappear. I was telling someone the other day how I never see Horned Toads anymore. They were everywhere when I was a kid. Much enjoyed my friend. x

I love this one Sage, it applies to all of us as we gwt over the hurdle of that halfway mark we tend to take life a little less seriously as if we have already seen the writing on the wall. Acceptance.

Sage,
I do love how you capture life unto our minds for a little whirl of the wind. I have to say I am looking forward to my 52nd year, 51 seems to have found my wiles to the waterwheels. Carin'

Sage you will never grow old My Friend. You are one of those eternally young yet ancient spirits. Even when your body is gone your spirit and poetry will still invite us to sit and listen to your well told tales.

Each element coinciding together
& needing each other for balance offering
Scales within equilibrium's carriage
generating unity in stable movements
creating harmonized involvements &
purified streams
if our windmill ceased
our waterwheel ceases too
& those bloodsuckers love stillness
to lay upon
their infestation of growing larvae

Patina is beautiful-but so is age…
Breathing upon erogenous mills…Vickie

Ah Sage, you were born maybe too soon / Windmills and watermills / You are an old seer at heart / A storyteller of the first class / Poetry crossing the line of acceptable polite company, but read in the closeted dark of would-be, breakout persona, but never to see the light of day / Rules and customs are made for breaking / Not in any sense of upsetting the cosmic flow, but "because" of the cosmic flow. You are an enlightenment, my dear Sage, breaking out without harming those you have left behind / Yours is an old soul / I am contemplating writing about just such a person who will be called on to save the civilized world / Let it be / Let it be / Who is Push Lambert?

3 years' on, Sage, and you're still leaving your initials carved in all our sap-bearing bark! Woof! :)) There's even less material between our legs now than there was back then and, cartwheeling or spinning around like sails, they're upside-down and tilting with every fond assault...

hell, I'm a writer and everything
is fucking alchemical to me, anyway

... rinsing my remaining copper locks in a blue-green patina might just be the way for me to go, too, in my 53rd year! :))

Keep your sword in its sheath when confronting windmills & take showers under waterwheels for life is about enjoyment just as enjoyable as your poetry here...Ed
