Cruel Marks Looked Like Hebrew: Holy Pommel

leather smelled
of Holy pommel,
Rose of Sharon
permeated horse
lather,

aspens adjusted
their roots, what the
trees saw was a collapsed
woman in the saddle of transition,
she rode through their thickness,
weaving deeper into the woods,
tree resin anointed her boots,

reins worn
near to breaking
scarred with injustice
of the whipping of her hide,
life's cruel marks ױלקדױ looked
like Hebrew on her back leaching
with pus, away from the one who
inflicted rule in the name of jealousy's
sick madness, the wood's canopy, the
hooves of immortality, the owl's teaching,
these things free of politics and corruption...

and then the woods
took her into their embrace
and Judas horseflesh freed her.

The second stanza is outstanding, Sage, and the whole work disturbs me beyond belief.

You have nailed the flavor of this time period. Your descriptions are dead on accurate! I can feel her flesh being beaten and raw..and then salvation comes.

Nicely done, dear Sage!!!
Peace, love, and light,

The sights, sounds, senses of touch all are awakened when I read this one. Pugent smells and stabbing pains and a sad type of resignation permeat each line. Well done...

I will never understand people who exuberate within jelousies
or those who allow thierself to be
involved with another person constraining with jelousy...

This is a most beautiful expression inside every word as the person is finally free from the emotional dysfuntion & its depletions within abuse

I think I'll stick to my rocking horse. The wood's canopy and the woods seem indistinguishable. Patrick

Holy crap! I have no idea what you are saying, but pain and salvation seem to flood my soul with this piece!

Peace and sweet rabbinic love,
Dayvid
