Breaking the Weasel's Hold

mushroom lifted
under the horse's
hoof, placebo rising,
the lynx the maker of
the track,

goldenrod and
coltsfoot, the compost
heap near the edge of the
water, teeth marks on the felled
aspens, wolf at the dam crouching
in covert plays her part, in front of her
a tight-rolled ball of quills, the porcupine
shoots the beaver,

wooden barrels
filled to the brim with
the day's ginger beer,
white froth, The Sundance
Wives, impregnable armour
keyed to a tenseness of living,
rendering their allegiance, the
quail unrestraining, the Four Women
lick each others cuts healing inoculation -

wrong ideas and principles,

the weasel,
a drinker of blood,
the she-wolf breaking
the weasel's hold.

How the hell did that weasel weasel HIMSELF in there?! Am I he? Sometimes I want to be. But that wolf can do me in as I try to do the beaver.

Teeth and peace marks,
Dayvid

Thank you, Sage. This is what I've been missing nigh on to
six months. A joy to be home again. -gene.

This is awesome, women who govern their own lives~ I'm trying to interpret what is truly meant, so I'll have to come back and re-read.
Amazing, sensual poem!

Metaphoric coding, Sage,..."...armour keyed to a tenseness of living" the four Horsewomen "lick each others cuts..."
breaking free in the natural...
