Horse's Gait 2012

The Indian Woman
was a Witch Religion
wanted to remove, she
wasn't put in place by the
celibate Church and Inquisition,

The Witch's
fee was a dollar
a month for life, the
client who didn't pay,
she collected anyway,
as an inducement a pan
full of blazing gasoline,

she was
not sorceress,
satanist nor Christian,

while loving
her black, she
branched off from
the main stream of
witchery, she was an
inheritor of pagan tradition,

they
pursued all
kinds of heresy
thinking they found
it, she remembered
in 1484 came the bull
of Pope Innocent VIII who
defined witchcraft as heretical
heresy, the Catholic Church's declaration
of war against practitioners of that heresy,

little did they
know she traded
her soul in the afterlife,
they said she blended
sacrilege and obscenity
all too well, even aroused
some of them, they wanted
her rid, she would not allow -
being sprinkled with holy water
or touched with a crucifix,

The Indian Woman
was a Witch Religion
wanted to remove, she
wasn't put in place by the
celibate Church and Inquisition.

Horse's Gait 2012
she'll appear, gold
and silver will announce
her arrival in the form of
coin and bridle, stabled
in the West and fed runes
of a polished gem brown the
color of apple seeds,

they will
pursue all
kinds of heresy
thinking they found
it, Maya will discount
it, she remembers when
Buffalo Springfield played
For What it's Worth,

what was
it she traded
her soul in the
afterlife for?

Truth.

When I was a kid and the record reached the end you would hear the circular, repetitive, clickitah, clickitah, clickitah, until you lifted the stylus. 1959 circa 2012. Patrick

I applaude your quest for truth, Sage, though I'm afraid that
one person's truth is all too often another's heresy. Moreover,
I applaud you and your special skill with words. -gene.

A very different write than I'm used to but one that is thought-provoking and interesting. I hope truth isn't buried so deep that we have to sell our souls to find it. I enjoyed the read very much.

Sage, spirits roam freely across the heavens. The "Indian Witch" walked the same grounds and viewed them differently than the established religions of the rest of the world. The horse she rode moved at a different gait. Heresy! At Heaven's gate perhaps we'll know the differences. For there, it will surely be exclusively those that sought salvation's outstretched hand. Their horse's gait will have been immaterial. Another interesting rendering where you have employed lore in a mix that teases the imagination and shakes the fruit from the tree of truth. My peace joy and love be always with you my friend. Jon Michael

We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Truth is covered by a quagmire of noise and to find it one usually has to sell their soul. Stephen Stills did. Sage you wrestle with the institutions that subvert truth and you pull it up to the surface again. Good write!

Peace and no papal bulls,
Dayvid

Religious establishments have always felt threatened by those who dare to think alternatively and independently, who were and are above and beyond the huddle and herd.
There's the real distinction of excellent thinking here, Sage, and excellent delivery.

an awesome offering!
even in the darkest of shadows
the blindest of light
she is there...truth is so awesome
and also for some a bit to abrasive
but if truth ruffles feathers so be it...

I do not understand, if the witch believes in the truth then the truth is there. Ny thinking is we spend to much time on science these days. We discount a "witches" claims when it could be the truth.

Isn't the truth always heresy in times of tyranny? Can truth be downloaded from invisible macrobes hovering just outside the realm of light? Will 2012 bring some sort of global epiphany? Or will the golden dawn be viewed only by those with the rare and precious gift of sight? Come December 21st in 2 years time, if the dawn is anything but golden, I shall drown myself in the Age of Aquarius. Behold, the water world is here! Great poetry.

And truth will prevail! Miss Sage. This poem is magnificent in volume, speaking of many truths throughout it's centuries and prophecies of yet more truth to come..There lyes truth...

Much peace, love and light,
Amber
