The Sundance Wives Forged From the Fire Within

swinging a
hammer on the anvil
pumping the bellows
over the forge fire

anvil bell choir
polygamy pourspout
standing over the smelting pot
kisses scorching hot the learned
blacksmith seductive glances

awkward stances
turn into the flint striker
the resulting sparks aimed
at a triangle heap of tinder red hot
quenched in the oil bath

pussy ringing of the wrath
clenched in the tongs ram's head
fireplace shovel clears the ashes we
f***ed the fire out of

ball peen upon the
anvil horn smashes
Alice Cooper sings
Only Women Bleed
Bob Seger sings Turn
the Page

the reward
of the price we paid
now here we go upon
the stage again The Sundance Wives
forged from the fire within

You've lost me here in one sense, Sage, but yet I'm 'found'...the sheer bombardment of the images sparks me...'polygamy pourspour' sent me into a strange place - oddly challenging but highly rewarding.

Yeah...That ball peen hammer keeps time as the pages turn.

Peace and many hot sparks,

you really have an amazing mind for details, an assigned name and number for every device, every molecular structure populating a moment in time where the reader feels he or she is beholding a living, breathing photograph. quite astounding, really. beautiful work.

Sage:

Really enjoy your poetry....everything you write, the first time I read I o "huh????" And I have to read it again, and most of the time I can go "Aha!!!"

Keep writing!
