winter's bark
on the tree freezes
preserving the mind
and its immaculate cosmic tea
rooted in soothing pleiadean chamomile
cue of intelligence hint of stellar excellence
the poet as clear as she is sharp stirring the universe
whetstone block
sharpened claws in her lovers' back
screams of the forest wild panther scent
permeates the rubbing like pencil graphite
coming off on a sheet of paper laid over a coin
giving head to an alchemical image of timeless facsimile
Good lawwwwwwwd... I wrote a poem earlier this evening which used several of the same concrete images and was driving (unsuccessfully, sadly!) at much the same idea. Mine's in the recycle bin: this is WONDERFULLY achieved and has that esprit de je ne sais quoi that is all in the heady alchemy of where world meets wonder. LOVE the picture! :) xx
This is beautiful Sage. I do believe it's the best I've seen you write. All the imagery is sharp as cut glass and pencil edgings. Great read and great work. Bob
Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
Always,
