She Excited to Filling Onyx Basins
there was a time
when she came to me from behind...
silk curtains I lured her with the skeleton key
I kissed her mahogany hair
nourished with herbal dye from
the brazilian amazon forest no ammonia
no peroxide
her affair
peddled fraud...I got past her affair
in full savvy heading in the opposite direction...
it was the unbearable lightness of being set-up
camouflaged scam
my secret throbbed
like that of a raging lion
in a zoroastrian fire temple
stretching truth's circumference
until I could no longer hold it in...she
took it with sensible measure
she excited
to filling onyx basins...
I assumed metaphor's position
with both ease and finesse
the mallards gathered
upon the water ruffling their feathers
biblical herds of pronghorns kicked up the dust
the roaming wolves
watched me get aroused
when she used a tool to change
the license plates to evade identification
I am a woman
who can recognize
a herd mate’s neigh invasively
