"A leopard doesn't reverse its spots and neither do she and I..."
—Sage Sweetwater Skeeterrenault

Expiration Expired

Foretold in
Wild forests
It came from
A storybook
Long ago...
The tale grew
Bigger every
Generation and
Inspired a writer
To write in a
Panthera pardus covered
Composition book a complete
Dossier of everything
That had ever happened—
Akashic record
Pictorial records
Memories of all universal
Events
Actions
Thoughts
And feelings
That have occurred since
The beginning of time...
Past
Present
Future
And all
Life forms
Stored in
The Cosmic
Library on the
Galactic plane
In the galactic
Coordinate system
Offset just to the
North of the Kangaroo
Court

Expiration
Expired
Coming to an
End
Terminated
No longer
Consumable
No longer
Valid
The disastrous
Truth bartered
Thrown away for
A mere pittance
Almond milk
Integrity
Shredded Italian cheese
Mold visible through
The saran color-changed
Plastic film
The habit
So ingrained
That's gone past
Its Expired expiration

or the leopard his spots? then may
ye also do good, that are accustomed
to do evil."

When the panther turns black, the spots still remain.

You are very profound in describing clearly how we cling to what has expired like Saran wrap leading us closer to our own expiration date.

Fortunately, we can predict many things that can help us avoid much of the future that has been written, but hasn't happened, yet. The trick is knowing exactly what to expire and what to promote, and be able to get it written down in history soon enough before the next big expiration date comes along.
