ALONE IN THE SUNSHINE
Alone in the sunshine I heard a song today
and it reminded me of you.
As if I needed a song to do that.
I sometimes suppress the fear and think of you since we parted
and force myself to remain detached,
hard hearted.
Alone in the sunshine I wonder what you do. do you think of me?
While still in that God-forsaken place which I escaped?
though I don't know why you would,
but I think it anyway.
Alone in the sunshine I think of you
but I think you know,
as you sit in the rain,
that I won't leave the sunshine
because I am living again.
Yet in a bad co-dependant moment
I tell myself that I would prefer to be with you.
I am alone in the sunshine
just the same
it is a temporary situation, I know.
Soon someone strong
will come along
and divert my attention from the horror of you,
and the sorrow of being
alone in the sunshine.
I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work.
I wanted to purchase a sukiyaki sub. I parked my car in an area of
Eight e-books regarding Pathological Narcissism, relationships with abusive
narcissists and psychopaths, and the Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
