Good hiaku message, John, actually conforming to the Asian rule of having the final line be an enlightenment. Second line "One day after Martin’s birthday" might become "Following Martin’s birthday" to hit the 7-syllable mark. When you see a Japanese haiku in its pre-translated original for, you find that 5-7-5 is a Western idea :-)
I know that it is an accomplishment and landmark day in history to have Obama inaugurated one day after Martin Luther King day. However, I pray and hope that soon we can look at the economy and say that we have "overcome". There are so many mountains and dangerous roads ahead of us, but wether we voted for Obama or not, we now have to look to him for leadership with hope. I truly hope that we will be able to overcome the problems that we face today.
Yes we have; now if he can deliver the promises he's made, we'll be much better off than we are now! I didn't vote for him, but all we can do is pray for him and his family, as well as his staff! Well done, John Michael!
