One more syllable in line 2 and you have a haiku. I liked it.
I can sympathize--this happened in the next town over--but I've tried shopping locally and we just can't afford the higher (almost convenience store) prices in town on groceries, household items, etc. We've done the math and comparison shopped: the money we save pays for our health insurance. Sorry Mom and Pop, but we live below the poverty line and an uninsured hospital stay would be catastrophic. Again, I understand, yet I benefit.
Yes it is sad to see the stores and family who depend on their family business for so many years to have to close their doors because of the larger stores walking in and taking over. Thank you for sharing John.
