How many times do we stay up past midnight when our best writing comes at the break of dawn? When will we learn? Perhaps I will learn after reciting this poem about 10 times! Enjoy!

All Writer’s Need Sleep

As a writer, sooner or later we all face lack of sleep and slumber.

Insomnia comes with the territory as we meditate between periods of blunder.

There are moments when we are at our peaK as we frantically write things down.

Then there are times when we giggle and laugh with glee, just like a clown.

Still, we often struggle for the right words and stay up until it’s very late.

Sound sleep comes as a premium, so perhaps it’s all just a matter of fate.

Conceivably it’s best to just rest as tomorrow will bring another day.

For in the morning, we may catch a rainbow and perceive things in brand new way!

Reference: Psalms 127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Very wise advise that every writer should follow. I believe our best work is always after a little rest. ~Chessly

Wonderful! This is terrific ~
And I was not sure why I always seem to go to bed mad at a poem I'm writing and then finish it effortlessly in the morning! It took your poem here to teach me!
Blessings,
Christine

She Intrigues Me, Revelations Of Love by Jon Willey

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
