Hiroshima Today

The Japanese people in Hiroshima have grown to love Americans. I would not have believed it if I did not see it. This poem is about my visit to Hiroshima when I was in the US Air Force in 1995.

Poem Artwork

Have you been to Hiroshima and have you strolled in the center of Peace Park?

The steel city hall frame reminds us an Atomic bomb that glowed in the dark

But most people there today blame Emperor Hirohito for lying that he was God

You might think they would hate Americans...instead they show a love is which pretty odd

In Hiroshima, this mysterious loving spirit gets even better after dark.

Folks like to sing karaoke

They sing and dance like it's a work of art.

Many Japanese imitate American music and they like to sing along

They sing Elvis, Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and many others all night long

There is a God of hope who is high in Heaven above.

For only God can turn hate and destruction from a World War into

Hope, Peace and LOVE.

 Amen

2014, John Michael Domino

It's sad that old men start the wars and young men die in them. I'm glad there have been no more Hiroshimas and Nagasakis, but I wnder how long it will last.

Wars are a terrible waste of life and so many beautiful soldiers die all the time because of greed and the lust for power. Insanity reins in the hearts of evil people and the innocent have to pay .
