I am not Present on this Page

I’ve been in the mountains to escape,
avoiding the small mud puddles
drinking the earth in seasonal rains.

Often I visit MG Road,
avoiding the Coffee Day where
we shared a favorite table
hiding from the commercial roar.

Killing my time with friends
I see you cross that road
in crimson Kurta and blue Levi Strauss.

Changing my image to escape
I retire back to my door
and knock to find no one
has lived there for five years.

I am one of those numbers
that numerates added to decimate
the literates in this age.
I am not present on this page
burning in my absence.

No matter what form or changes you make Debashish your poetry remains powerful, provactive, leaning to the surreal, leaving the reader always wanting more!

you have changed your image in many ways ... i notice a shift in the manner you approach your images as apposed to your older postings on the den ... the quintessence is still as vibrant as always and your motif is profoundly clear and effective ... a reminiscence of a time lost yet present ...

Ah Debs, your poetry never fails to move me deeply, It just touches something almost primal in my heart. Love the way you express this feeling,

This is quite a captivating, and thought provoking write, Debashish. And I think deep losses in life can make one feel like this, if we let them.
