He peels an apple,
headlines and stories,
half awake lights
a modifier, and then wakes up
with the morning bulletin

as Paris and Jessica strip,
someone gropes Scarlett�s golden globes,
Hillary declares her intentions,
Meryl wears pardah,
school children fear
Brangelina bodyguards.
killer drivers absconding,
two slots for alabaster skin.

Dow and Nasdaq rise,
10,000 die in Bangladesh floods,
Bush the great president, Saddam�s death.
Dr Putin? He cheated, say scholars,
Hizb chief Salahuddin surfaces
in public in Pak.
a morning news bulletin,
a half-peeled apple:
an extended image,
a pack of metaphors.

Walmart enters India,
Mittal, who bought Soviet steel plants,
rides crocodile elevator,
speaks to media in bubble words:
flowers and bubbles�

A lot more than "a pack of metaphors" in these very fine lines. The near-hallucinatory nature of the style fits perfectly the stirring blend of indvidual sensibility in a head-on crash with the pop materialism and sinister politics of the New Man's dubious inheritance.

I like the title of this one and the chosen art. The world is a junkie on media insulin. You captured so much for this new Geopoliticus Child what a life to look forward to. As always your work meters thought, re-read and once more. Always imagery ladden and full of provking thoughts.
