The infant crawls for food,
as a vulture watches.
A photographer narrows
the angle between the prey and predator.

(II)
The cubist, who disowned
his own anti-war paintings,
isn’t alive to see the symbols,
in background, where leaders agree
upon bombings and retaliations.

(III)
The world’s an echo in timeline.
Clocks slither, hands swap places.
Minutes counted in hours,
seconds in minutes.
The surrealist sits on the horizon
painting the diffused and effaced.
