Paradox

by Debashish Haar — Read all 156 poems by Debashish Haar

Saturday, January 13, 2007

They meet at the city square;
there’s no exchange of words.
Eyes pierce each other
sleeves brush, if crowded
there’s an occasional touch.

In the office they coded
storages and networks,
and did what their parents dreamed
of doing only at nights.

A woman who looks
like her mother sees
a man who looks
like his dad; they pass
each other without turning around.

Hmmm.... I just read *Under a Lamplight,* and this one and that seem to have a similar soul - two people who are possibly intimate without being intimate. Very interesting. Excellent write.

Peace. Joyce

Might a "Paradox" by another name be described as discreet? Intriguing write that overflows with its sense of humanity at personal and public crossroads.

This makes me want to know if they ever get to really meet and if they have anything in common. Very nice poem, Debs.
Take care,
Sherry

A moment captured so well they noticed and the thought provoking way you ended this so smooth and well captured. There was a touch, then thoughts, then sight. leaves the reader to imagine.

Bless you,

Joselyn

this is intriguing, Debashish. I like how it flows so smoothly, calmly...a simple statement of fact that holds within itself so many nuances.

Ingriguing, Debs; your verses say a lot about human relationships (or the lack thereof). Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Regis
