She curls in a bed: a wife,
a mother in the morning,
a sister, a friend in the evening,
and then again a wife.

She goes to the office,
where her bosses and subordinates
dream of her thighs,
some are obliged
and others find her faults.

He owns a software firm,
a wife, a child, a bungalow, a car,
not aware of the ownership laws.

So lucid, so penetrating. It seems that women are always defined by reference to their position in regard other people... men usually by possessional symbols. Men accrue, women give. Women often own -nothing that isn't first given them by men. Men make ownership laws; women are defined by them. This is a one-dimensional review of a multi-layered poem which to me delineates men's freedoms and women's constraints. To a large extent, in so many parts of the first world let alone the second or third, it is STILL a man's world. Great write. Hope I've at least touched on one of your shades of meaning here. TY Kate

PS Thanks for grammar correction ... Just got it into my head recently that "its" is only apostrophised (??!!) when it means "it is", rather than being possessional. Perhaps it all rather depends on whether you're a man or a woman?? :))

Laws or no laws, none of us truly owns anything and certainly not anyone.

Hetrogenious? Such is the woman you describe. As for the husband, does he own her? I doubt it. Great poem, great food for thought. Victor

I was informing my self of the background of this word, for your intellect and creative ways always leaves a mystery to unwind Poet.

Given in reference to the title of this poem chosen of scientific DNA coupling data for genetics and subject categories/ Also Programming such as in collective data of software programming or scripting. So the latter is where I related to this reasoning of title.. However, you have only mentioned the parallel of relationship. She holds a multi task force of personalities and obligations to be a woman often treated as you have enlisted in this stanza 1&2. He has all in it owns- but not aware of his ownership. I think she is well aware of her position in this world and multi duty relationship. I am keeping this to reread further to understand the true intent of this poem. You never come stale but with fresh higher thoughts to arouse and provoke the readers thoughts and understanding..
Thank You

Light & peace,

Joselyn
