My Mother always loved the spring. This poem is dedicated to her memorey
Spring Memories To my mother who loved the spring and picking may flowers
Spring Memories
Ice retreating on the lakes Geese back from the south Pussy willows , for goodness sakes Fresh fried trout in my mouth
Bright crisp and longer days Warm darker shorter nights The edge of forest the deer plays With no fear of hunters sights
Foaming suds in rushing streams Sparkling as diamonds on icy rocks Making rainbows as in dreams While in forest boughs a squirrel mocks
May flies swarm on crystal Lake Frogs start singing their love song The eerie sound two loons make Nature’s thankful winter’s gone.
Mayflowers blossom along forest trail Patches of snow glisten in the trees Warm sun in winter’s coffin drives the nail As old man winter falls to his knees.
Spring is natures starting gate Life fresh and now renewed All God’s creatures court and mate Ah, spring morning , fresh coffee brewed !!
