This life is a blessing
Complete with struggles and trials
You will always be guessing
And twisting life’s dials.
It will never be perfect
No matter how hard you try
No, it’s no good to object
At life’s end we all die.
You just have to continue to try
Do the best that you can
Yes, the years they will fly
Be good to yourself, be your best fan.
And when life is over
You look back along the road
Did you travel all over?
Did you handle life’s load?
Is there peace in your heart?

This is so true my friend, Why go through hell here and end up there for eternity as it is hard life as you stated has it's ups and downs, smiles and its frowns but one day the righteous will gain the victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What more can anyone ask of you? :-) To stand firm in one's beliefs is a good thing as long as you keep your mind open to all possibilities and I think from what I have read here this is exactly what you have done :-)
