Oh, what a kingdom!
Pale white cheeks,
Fluttering dark lashes,
Red-streaked eyes squeezed shut.
They rule so passionately
Amidst the whimpering gasps
And the blowing of the nose.
King, Queen, and subjects all gathered
At court, dancing jovially and sliding
Calmly down the planes of my face.
Who needs a masquerade, a jester,
Or two prancing bears?
They have these emotions to entertain,
These frantic thoughts to examine
And admire for their absurdity.
They have me...
I am the circus,
I am the dancing bear,
The reckless jester,
And the sneering courtier....
