This poem written in September '06, after Katrina hit Louisiana with a terrible force,and will be published in 'Immortal Verses' early spring '06

                                 
                               K A T R I N A

Powerful Katrina was no lady
She came in with a fury
Which no man could match
And took all in her path
but she did not discourage
the Cajun Heart
As Gov. Kathleen Blonco said,
'We will rebuild'
The city of New Orleans
will be bigger and better for it
The coast of  Louisiana, Mississippi
and Alabama will be restored
All will be as before
Mary, our mother, bless all
who died in water and wind
Let them have Peace
May we be enriched by this
rather than destroyed
