Child abuse is such a horrible crime! It affects that child's present and future outlook on life, their trust of others, and causes physical damage, and great mental anguish, amongst other things. Such a dastardly crime is often never brought to light and the perpetrator remains unexposed, only to repeat that same crime again and again. A heartfelt and well expressed poem, Little Flower.
The hurt of a child by an abuser keeps a part of that child forever trapped in that time frame and that unhealing pain. Years can go by, and sometimes they even find ways to forgive...but I don't think they ever forget. You captured that intense pain so well here that as a father and grandfather my heart reached out and my anger rose for someone who could do this.
