The List

She kept a list of things to do.
I asked her "Why", she said "Don't you?"
I answered, "No, I had a mind
That was a certain special kind
I did not need to write things down."
She looked at me, I saw the frown

She said "I jot down everything
That I think needs rememering."

We went to lunch. She said she wished
To buy some items on her List
We shopped around from store to store
Until the clock said Shop No More

We hurried to the parking lot
I had to tell her I forgot
Where we were parked, she said "Don't worry It's on my List. Come on, let's hurry"

That special mind I thought I had
Confides in me it's very glad
That I discoveredwhat I'd missed
